Professionals who pursue continuing education credits demonstrate a commitment to skill improvement and personal development, which in turn, leads to improved business opportunities and relationships.
CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit, while PDH stands for Professional Development Hour and is more commonly used in the engineering community. Both are accredited programs designed for professionals with certificates or licenses to practice various professions. They act as a permanent record of an individual's educational experiences. A CEU is equal to 10 hours of participation in accredited learning activity while a PDH equals one hour of participation. AEE Credits are used to fulfill the requirements for renewing an AEE certification. One CEU equals two AEE Credits.
1 Contact Hour = 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH = 0.2 AEE Credits
Colleges, universities, and any association, company, or organization that is willing and able to meet the standards established for a particular industry may be accredited to award official CEU or PDHs. AEE is able to award CEUs for attendance in the training programs and conferences because it meets the standards outline by IACET, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, and the U.S. Department of Education.
